Job Description

Sam Veasna Conservation Stays is seeking a Head Chef to oversee kitchen operations at our conservation-focused lodge in Tmat Paeuy, Preah Vihear. This role plays an important part in supporting guest experience, staff wellbeing, and our wider mission of community-based tourism.



The Head Chef is responsible for planning and preparing daily meals, managing food quality and presentation, maintaining high standards of hygiene and food safety, and ensuring the kitchen operates efficiently. You will work with locally sourced and seasonal ingredients, with a strong focus on Cambodian cuisine, while adapting menus to meet different dietary requirements.


This position also involves supervising and training kitchen staff, managing food inventory and stock control, and working closely with the Duty Manager and other lodge teams to ensure smooth daily operations. The Chef will help set up and organize the kitchen, including equipment, storage, and workflow, especially important in a remote lodge environment.


We are looking for someone with professional kitchen experience, strong organizational and leadership skills, and the ability to work independently in a rural eco-tourism setting. An interest in sustainable cooking practices and working with local communities is highly valued.
